John Fiala Head Coach

Coach Fiala's passion for football has truly been his entire life. He started his football career in 5th grade followed by playing at both University of Washington and in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This is his seventh season as Head Coach for Cedarcrest High School. John is incredibly passionate about the game of football, the growth of each individual and building a family of champions for our future. Go Cedarcrest!

Pete Hartzell Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs

Coach Hartzell has 16 years of varsity football coaching experience, including his time at Woodinville and Monroe. He graduated from Central Washington University where he was a four-year letter-man and honorable mention all-league Cornerback. Coach Hartzell also spent five years playing semi-pro football for Snohomish County Vikings.

Mitch bair OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR & QUARTERBACKS

Coach Bair is from Issaquah, WA and has been coaching football for 10 years. After graduating from Washington State, he began coaching youth football for a year before spending 2 seasons at Interlake High School as the head JV coach and varsity WR coach. He then coached WR/DB/QB the next 5 seasons at Hazen High School. He is excited to give back to the community and continue his coaching career at Cedarcrest High School.

Brandon Savage JV Head Coach, Defensive Line & Tight Ends

Coach Savage is entering his 9th year of coaching at Cedarcrest High School. He currently serves as JV Head Coach, as well as coaches Defensive Line and Tight Ends. He played his high school ball at Inglemoor High School under Frank Naish. During his time with Cedarcrest, he spent many years helping run the Cedarcrest Junior Red Wolves program. He is also active in the local Lacrosse community, coaching both Cedarcrest High School and Youth squads. He lives in Duvall with his wife Brooke and children Jack and Aria. He enjoys great music, watching sports and working hard to ensure football continues to thrive in the valley.

Braden Richey wide receivers

Coach Richey grew up in Oregon and has enjoyed football from an early age. Coach Richey graduated from Northwest University and began teaching in 2004. This will be his 22nd year coaching football. Prior years, Coach Richey was an assistant coach at Skyline High School. Coach Richey got to be a part of 2 State Championship teams in 2011 and 2012 as the Quarterbacks coach. From 2020-2023, Coach Richey was the Offensive Coordinator. He teaches Health/PE in the Issaquah School District. He has a passion for positively impacting our youth on and off the field. Their family moved to Carnation in 2019 and have loved their time in the community.

Coach Bender grew up in Lincoln NE, in high school he competed in football, track & field and later went on the be a decathlete at U. South Dakota and then transferred to Fort Lewis College to play football for a while. He is a 19 year Duvall resident and has previously coached other valley youth sports. Coach Bender has 4 boys all who have attended and graduated from CHS.

Adam Foster

Adam is excited to join the Cedarcrest football program as a volunteer. Raised on Bainbridge Island, he played wide receiver through college (Western Washington University). He and his wife, Erin, have lived in Carnation for 20 years and have three children who have all been part of Cedarcrest High School. Over the past decade, Adam has coached youth soccer, basketball, and lacrosse in the valley. He values team sports for the way they help young athletes grow, challenge themselves, and become better teammates and leaders.

Jonas Lawson Offensive line

Coach Lawson has been coaching football for 28 years at both the Jr and High school levels and has been with the Red Wolves for the past 7 seasons. He has coached football at Issaquah High School, Interlake High School, Five Star, Issaquah, and Cedarcrest Jr football programs. When not coaching, Coach Lawson enjoys camping, golfing, and spending time with Family and friends.

Roger Beauchamp Defensive Line

Coach Beauchamp is entering his 25th year of coaching high school or major college football. His passion for football started at an early age, watching Sonny Sixkiller lead the Huskies in his earliest memories. A dream came true when Roger was selected to be an Undergrad Coach for the University of Washington, during the 1994-1996 seasons as the defensive line assistant coach.. He has worked primarily with both defensive and offensive lines throughout his career. He has successfully sent a few players to the next level, including to the NFL. He is also a Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom veteran, having served almost 26 years. Coach Beauchamp is looking forward to coaching the varsity defensive line, and is excited to be a Red Wolf. He is married to his wife Brenda, and have a 14 year old Mini Aussie, Zena

Michael Schauble Defensive Backs

Coach Michael Schauble is in his fifth year of coaching football, focusing on developing disciplined, high-IQ defensive backs. He has experience as both a former high school and college football and track athlete. As a NASM-certified trainer and founder of ZenRock Fitness, he has worked with athletes from the high school level to the pros, specializing in building explosive speed, strength, and agility while emphasizing injury prevention and long-term athletic development. Off the field, Coach Schauble is a proud father of three and the CEO of a video game publishing company. His coaching is guided by a favorite quote from Nick Saban: “Do the right thing. Do the right thing when the right thing is not popular.”

Michael Warsaw Linebackers

Coach Warsaw grew up in Central Oregon, playing football since the 4th grade and high school ball at Mt View HS in Bend, OR. Following in his dad's footsteps to play college football, he went on to play linebacker at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA where he was a 4-year letter and served as a captain his senior year.

Michael has lived in Duvall since 2017 with his wife, Lauren, their aussies, Blue and Smokey, and horse, Captain Alfred. He is excited to give back to the sport that gave so much to him and keep the passion for football alive in the next generation.

Will Flink Defensive Line & Tight Ends

Will is in his first year of coaching and will be coaching the JV tight ends and defensive line. He has lived in the Valley for most of his life in both Lake Marcel and downtown Duvall, graduating from Cedarcrest in 2022. Will likes reading, listening to good music, and indulging in NFL content, most of which involving fantasy football. Will also has a sister who currently attends Cedarcrest and is a part of the cheer team.

Ryan Byars Equipment Manager

Coach Byars brings over 28 years of experience working with youth through teaching and coaching a variety of sports. Originally from Lynnwood, WA, he has called Duvall home for more than 18 years. He currently teaches Physical Education and Health at Cedarcrest High School.

Throughout his career, Coach Byars has demonstrated a deep commitment to student development, both in the classroom and on the field. His passion for fostering growth, teamwork, and resilience has made him a respected figure in the Issaquah and Duvall communities.

Outside of coaching, Coach Byars enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Jaime, and their two sons, Magnuson and Maddox. He also enjoys hiking, weightlifting, and watching YouTube—often with the family's dog, Pedro, by his side.

Makenzi weber head trainer

Makenzi Weber joined the Cedarcrest family as the Head Athletic Trainer in October of 2023. Weber comes to Cedarcrest from the collegiate setting where she spent time as athletic trainer at UTEP, Northwestern State University and the University of Tulsa working with various women’s sports. Makenzi is a graduate of Washington State University where she received a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training in May of 2020. Makenzi also completed a master's degree in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Sports Administration at Northwestern State University of Louisiana in December of 2022. A native of Bothell, Makenzi returned home to Washington with her husband Coles and daughter Amelia.
